The Horses
The horses of Southern Comfort Farm & Rabbitry are actually the heart and soul of the place....
This is Dixie, or as her Spotted Saddle Horse Registry name states, "Strong Order." She is a young mare expecting her second foal by a black and white tobiano Spotted Saddle Horse. It has been several years since we have had a foal born on our place, so we're pretty excited and counting down the days to March when she's due.

Halimaars StarDust (Abraxas Halimaar x SS Chiefs Desire)
This is Star, our Egyptian-related Arabian mare. Love this mare. She was a show pony in her youth, and then a great mountain trail horse and cattle driving horse when we lived in Montana.
Walkabout's Cherokee Rose
My parents, who own Walkabout Farm in Newnan, Georgia, used to breed miniature horses, and Rose is the last remaining horse we own that was from that program. She is 22 years old this year and doing quite well, although a little arthritic.
Stella
This is a Dartmoor cross pony that belongs to my daughter. She is a sweetheart, but she gets grumpy and makes ugly faces if you don't feed her as quickly as she thinks she should be fed.
RIP Stella Bug. You will be dearly missed. 8/10/2014.
